The Duke of Edinburgh’s Hillary Award: Adventurous Journey Grants
Grants now available for Gold and Silver Adventurous Journeys!
Are you currently planning your Gold or Silver-level Adventurous Journey for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Hillary Award? Would a cash grant help you have an experience that you will remember for the rest of your life?
Swap the Kawekas for Fiordland. Trade your Maggi mac’n’cheese for that dehydrated butter chicken that tastes almost like the real thing. Hire a GoPro to record your experience forever. All these things are possible with the help of our cash grants for young people undertaking their Gold or Silver Adventurous Journey.
All we ask in return is a short article and a couple of photos about your trip that we can publish on our website and social media.
The grants are $200 in cash and can be used for expenses associated with your Adventurous Journey, including travel costs, hut fees, food purchase and gear hire. They have been made available through the generous support of the Maerewhenua Trust.
A full list of criteria and information about the application process, is included on the application form.
There are four rounds each year closing on 15 March, 15 June, 15 September and 15 November.
Ready to apply? You can download the application form below, which needs to be printed off, signed by the relevant people then sent to FMC.
