Northern Recreation Opportunities
In October 2009 FMC hosted a meeting of clubs, DoC and other interested people to discuss how to develop Outdoor Recreation Opportunities in the top half of the North Island. Our detailed submission to DoC as a consequence of this forum are available here: North Forum report (August 2010)
Greater Wellington Regional Parks Management
FMC has commented to the Greater Wellington Regional Council on their Management Plans for the parks they control. GWRC Parks Management (Dec 2009)

Schedule 4 Review
The Government is proposing a review of land currently protected under Schedule 4 of the Crown Minerals Act. You can download the FMC submission on this issue FMC Schedule 4 Submission
Tongariro National Park Management Plan – Partial Review
DoC has requested informal feedback on a proposed partial review of the Tongariro National Park Management Plan. The review relates to policies covering:
- The number of transport concessions granted for the Tongariro Crossing;
- The maximum daily number of passengers for transport operators on the Tongariro Crossing;
- The use of over-snow vehicles within ski area boundaries.

University Student Association Fee Bill
The FMC has submitted against the intention in this bill to make Unversity Student Association Fees voluntary. This would have a significant negative impact on University Tramping Clubs. (31/3/2010)
Walking Access Commission – Draft Codes
FMC has written to the WAC commenting on their draft codes of Access and the Outdoors. WAC Comments (Dec 2009)
